Planting Seeds

Early last week, a friend came over, and we spent the afternoon planting seeds. As I walk through Vigelandsparken each day, the bare trees remind me that even in the quietest seasons, growth is happening beneath the surface. It makes wonder about the seeds have I planted over the course of my life that are about to sprout…

Moving to Oslo two months ago felt like starting fresh soil. Each day, I find myself tending to new beginnings - exploring unfamiliar routes, engaging with new and old friends, and stepping into opportunities that push me outside my comfort zone. It’s a slow process, but I’ve come to realize that many of these small actions are rooted in seeds I unknowingly planted years ago.

Back in 2017, I reached out to someone on LinkedIn whose career path inspired me. I asked her for coffee, and that simple conversation set off a chain of events that ultimately led me to Norway. We stayed connected, and over time, I followed in her footsteps - attending the same master’s program and later stepping into the freelance consulting job she once held. Her enthusiasm for Norway planted a seed in my mind, one that has since grown into the life I have now.

Curiosity has a way of shaping our paths in unexpected ways. If someone or something sparks your interest, reach out, explore, and see where it leads. You never know which seed, planted in the smallest moment, might grow into something meaningful.

What seeds are you planting this season?
